Grade 9 Science Classes Explore the Environment

On Monday, April 22, Ms. Duval and Ms. Dobo’s Grade 9 Science classes at Father Leo J. Austin Catholic Secondary School explored the environment with community partner, Ben Marshall. Ben provided learning about the health of the forest around the school. He demonstrated ways to test soil, spoke about the healthiness and age of the forest. Ben also discussed fiddle heads that were edible while in their curled state, but would be poisonous once they started to straighten, and finally the importance insects
